When I was a kid, my father told me that some buildings do not have a thirteenth floor due to superstition; that some buildings go directly from twelve to fourteen so no one has to live, work, or visit floor thirteen.
At the time, that was the most absurd thing I had ever heard. Of course there is a thirteenth floor. It matters not what you name it. All you have to do is look.
And so, in honor of that existing-missing floor, and my little child mind that grappled with reality amid superstition, I created this website, Thirteenth Story, as a place to share my artwork and writings, that also travel between existing and missing.
It has changed much over the years. Back and forth with images and words, and long periods of nothing but promises of something next. I welcome you and thank you for visiting. Everything is going to be okay during your time on this thirteenth story.
